Abstract:
The article briefly explains what Web 2.0/Library 2.0/Librarian 2.0 is, its underlying concepts, features and principles.
Three Things I Learned From My Reading Assignment:
1. Library 2.0 is a user-centered system; encouraging user participation and interaction in a technology-driven environment.
2. In Library 2.0, the library becomes "human" because it makes the library a social and emotionally engaging center for learning and experience (OCLC).
3. Various Web 2.0 technologies/tools (e.g. blogs and blogging, wikis, RSS, etc.)
Application:
As librarians, it is imperative that we go with the flow of technology. It is a must for us to keep updated with the current trends and technology in library services. Always be open to changes and don't be afraid to experiment and take initiatives. Library 2.0 is one way to invigorate our services and interaction with our users.
